Shri Purandaradaasar Trust (SPT) was formed on 7th June 2012 for the purpose of promoting Indian culture and music by conduct of Seminars, competitions, Lecture-cum-demonstrations, workshops, conducting free classes, publishing books on Indian music and culture and music concerts and honouring deserving students and artistes. This is a Unit of Sri Purandaradasar Baktha Samajam, a registered association, which was formed during 1994 by Vidwan Late Sri A.R.KANNAN. SPT is conducting its activities, planned and executed by an effective and a dynamic Trust Board under the Chairmanship of Sri R.Srinivasa Moorthy, Managing Trustee.
This event is celebrated in the month of January / February every year, which includes Pooja, concerts, Conferring of Awards (one award instituted in memory of the Founder Vidwan Late Sri A.R.Kannan and 3 awards with the title `Dasa Kala Rathna’ to eminent Artistes and youth excellence awards). So far we have awarded 108 artistes of different faculties.
Monthly concerts dedicated to Sri Purandaradasar/ Gokhulashtami celebrations.
Vocal / Instrumental concerts are organized every month and a special concert on Gokhulashtami day is also organized.

Book Projects
As a part of diversification of activities, SPT had ventured into releasing of the Book containing the rare krithis of Sri Purandaradasa. One such book was released in 2014 and the second volume is in the pipeline.
Vocal Music competitions for music students.
Vocal Music competitions in Sri Purandaradasar krithis are held in Chennai with objective of popularizing the Purandaradaasa krithis among the students.
Yuva Sangeetha Vaibhavam
With a view to encourage young talents, SPT has organized `Yuva Sangeetha Vaibhavam’ for two full days and featured 12 music concerts in September 2024 with the participation of 36 young Artistes. This will be a continuing feature ever year. Apart from this SPT has started `GRIHA SANGEETHAM’, a chamber concert event every month featuring one concert.
Homage Trips to the Places of Musical Importance
SPT takes musicians and music students to places of musical, spiritual, religious importance to pay Homage to the Saints and Composers.
We have organized following trips and performed music festivals at the following places
➠ Tiruvaiyaru for a musical homage to Saint Sri Thyagaraja.
➠ Organized a trip to Ettayapuram, where Sri Muthuswami Dikshidhar attained Samadhi.
➠ Organized a trip to Thanjavur, where Sri Shyama Sastri attained Samadhi.
➠ Organized a trip to Utthukkadu, where Utthukkadu Venkata Kavi attained Samadhi.
➠ Organized a trip to Mysuru at Mysuru Vasudevachar’s ancestral home in Mysuru.
➠ Organized a trip to Thennangur at Sri Pandurangar Temple.
